I read this fic a while ago and unfortunately I can't remember much from it. I think it went back and forwards through the tenses in the story but the one major bit I do remember is that it's a future fic where Arthur asks any of the new knight hopefulls to go up against one of the following: Lancelot, Merlin and another knight. There's three knight hopefulls and the cocky/ horrible one chooses Merlin as at this point no one realises how strong he is/his magic is. I think the lack of magic knowledge is due to Uther finding out about Merlin's magic so he leaves and then comes back late once Arthur is King.

If you could help it would be brilliant as this is just nagging at me for no apparent reason and I just can't seem to find it, I was so sure it was in my favs :(

Reveals are up for hd_career_fair and ownficfest, and it turns out (to some surprise? heh) that I wrote this one and this one. That was my September. I'm pretty happy with both of them, but there is some tweaking needed before re-posting, which will happen... not now.

Because now, I am off for the weekend to an annual conference for work. Every November around this time I go to this conference... and every time I go, I spend much of it in a hotel room writing my smutty_claus fic. Heh. Actually, there was one memorable year when I finished snupin_santa, merry_smutmas and smutty_claus from that hotel room, but this year I won't have quite that much time. Or that variety of assignments. Just the one this year.

Am drawing a giant heart around this year's fic, though, because ahahahahaahaha and I can't tell you more than that. :)

In other news, I got a flu shot yesterday. I have never had a flu shot in my life, not even when I worked for several years in an emergency room and came in close contact with people who had the flu. But I was at the doctor for something unrelated and he said, "while you're here, do you want a flu shot? WE ONLY HAVE SIX LEFT SO IT MIGHT BE YOUR LAST CHANCE." IDK I guess I just panicked or something and said yes. Anyway, the point of all this is that today I can hardly move my arm at all and it's tingling from my shoulder to my wrist. I KNEW THERE WAS A REASON I DON'T GET FLU SHOTS.

Newbie bearing gifts? I think this is allowed, but I do apologise if it isn't.

I went to the Cardiff Lights Event thing tonight and the main Merlin cast (minus the lovely Richard Wilson) were there to turn it on with a little something more special than a switch. ;D I apologise, the quality isn't excellent but the sound isn't too bad (turn up when the girls are speaking and please ignore the screaming!) and I did miss an initial question for Bradley by squeeing too hard myself. >.< But it was fun and the fireworks at the end were excellent. ;D The cast didn't stick around long but they seemed pretty hyped and the atmosphere was great. =D

A slight warning - I may have sworn once or twice during the event, specifically regarding the fireworks, but I can't personally hear it. If you do, I'm sorry. D:

We've made some additions and improvements to Notes!

The Notes feature has been added to two action-taking pages:

• You can now add a Note directly on the Add a friend page - handy if you'd like to mark down where you met them or another name you know them by!
• On the Ban and unban users page (under Account -> Privacy) you can now add a Note, including to a group of users all banned at the same time (so that next year you won't need to ask yourself "hey, why did I ban these guys?")

Other changes:

• When you're viewing your existing Notes they're grayed out; click in a field to activate it to change the text (this page can be found from the header by using Profile -> Manage Notes)
• Changes to editing:
  • When you're going to create a new Note but one already exists, you'll get a warning that you're editing an existing Note
  • You can now delete a note from the "Edit note" pop-up in the hover menu
  • You can now delete notes for multiple selected users on the Manage notes page
  • When you change Notes on "Ban|unban users" page, they can be edited and saved with "Save Changes" button

I know, these things are posted all the time, but I was seriously freaking desperate. It feels like I've been looking for it forever, but I recently just read it a few days ago. I've read it loads of times before so I don't think it's a new fic or anything, anyway here it goes:

Merlin is on the run in the woods, he saved a girl that was about to be burned for sorcerery - she was innocent -, and now everyone's looking for him. It's totally snow and supercold and he hides and then Arthur comes out - he now knows about Merlin's magic too, but he's not too upset - and when Merlin covers up the horse tracks in the snow after the girl's horse, Arthur lets him. Merlin passes out, because he's drained and cold, and he wakes up in a cave or something with Arthur pressed against him and Merlin wakes up and they have sex.

Ring a bell anyone? I am pretty sure it's a fan favourite, at first I thought it was phantomjam's, but I already checked, does anyone know? Thank you.
