There is a storm brewing in my head. I am all sorts of congested - probably a combination of weather and hay fever, although I usually don't get terribly severe allergies.
Still, this morning I woke up with definite breathing difficulty and my head feels like it has a big ole vise around it. Dang those sinuses! I spent an egregiously long time in the shower this morning until I could breathe, but it didn't last.
Here's hoping that some steaming hot tea and my doses of Airborne will ease the pain.
Yesterday's acupuncture was for my neck and shoulders, so we had fun with muscle-reset points. It was actually a little excruciating at times, there was just so much knotting around my spinal cord and shoulder blades. Karoline prodded around and kept saying, "I know that can't be a bone!" Ugh. She did hit a couple of amazing points on my neck, which made my muscles twang rather like a snapped rubber band. It was a good thing from a treatment perspective but it really freaked me out.
And after 30 minutes or so lying on my face, I was breathing like Darth Vader with a cold. Ooogh.
The day had better improve, that's all I can say.

Yesterday I went to see Karoline with a mild headache, remnants of the screamer I had over the weekend.
She punched some needles in my face and scalp - including two that went in just under the inner edge of my eyebrows, with the needle handles barely brushing my nose. Weird. More head points meant I felt rather more pincushiony than usual. I feel the needles in my head and face more than the rest of my body, excepting only my hands. The hands are the worst.
Anyway, after 20 minutes of lying with a bunch of needles in my eyebrows and head, the headache... vanished.
Another miracle of alternative medicine. Also, this session, I twitched. A lot. Every major appendage was active, as if someone was playing around with a reflex hammer.
I hope I find a good acupuncturist in Houston because this is the best stuff EVAR!!1!

Apparently, I am what professional acupuncturists refer to as "a giggler". That's right - stick me with pins, and I laugh and laugh and laugh. Or at least I did today.
One of my Christmas gifts was a gift certificate for a consultation at Forest Hills Healing Arts, which I finally managed to cash in today. Thank you, Michelle, and thank you, Karoline!
This is fascinating stuff.
